description
This art print reproduces a hand-coloured stipple engraving of Iris, with one tall central stem, precise engraved linework, fine cross-hatching and translucent watercolour washes. Bud, seed and cross-section studies form a neat row along the lower edge above the small italic “Iris” caption, set on Enhanced Matte Paper (189 g/m²) for a study room or a gift for plant lovers.
editor's review
trending · 2026-w43 →“A finely detailed iris study balances engraved precision with translucent colour, bringing quiet botanical character to a reading nook or study.”
- SubjectA tall iris stem anchors precise studies of its bud, seed, and cross-section.
- Palette & lightSoft watercolour washes temper the crisp stipple engraving, leaving the paper’s warm ground bright and airy.
- CompositionThe central stem rises cleanly above a measured lower row, with the italic caption providing a restrained finish.
- Where it fitsWell suited to a study, library, or reading corner where its quiet vertical rhythm complements wood, linen, and natural light.
